My Chemical Romance Announces Reunion

My Chemical Romance Announces Reunion

My Chemical Romance had announced that they are reuniting for a comeback show. The band revealed through Instagram @mychemicalromance that they will have a gig called “Return in Los Angeles” revealing the date which was on the 20th of December 2019 at Shrine Expo Hall, Los Angeles California, together with ticket links on how and when will the fans be able to avail it.

It was such a nostalgic moment as the rock band starts to play their award-winning songs. Making the crowd as expected jamming with them. Also, Gerard took the moment to dedicate this performance to their late former manager Lauren Valencia, who passed away in July of 2019 following a battle with cancer.

The first half of the set features Youth Code’s Sara Taylor, adding guest vocalist in the song “You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us In Prison”.

Following the encore of “Vampire Money”, and “Helena”, Gerard cheekily teases up their finale song in which he stated: “We have one more song for you… maybe it’s the one you want to hear.” And finally, after their disbandment, we get to hear them playing “Welcome to the Black Parade”. This song will always be the perfect song to end the night, yet a new beginning to MCR as they announce their comeback tour.

My Chemical Romance Setlist last 20th of December for “Return in Los Angeles”.

Formed in 2001, soon after the September 11 attack, with Gerard Way as the vocalist, Ray Toro and Frank Lero as the guitarist, Mikey Way as the bassist. My Chemical Romance (MCR or My Chem) is an American rock band from Newark New Jersey. My Chemical Romance is best known for their hits such as “Welcome to the Black Parade”, “Teenagers”, “Helena”, “Sing”, etc.

After the band’s success and scored awards with their songs, the band announces their break-up through their official website last March 22, 2013, as the statement follows.

“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.”

Gerard Way also confirmed it as he posted on his twitter account 2 days after the disbandment announces via their official website, but he denied having complications between band members were the reason for the split up.

Following the band’s split-up, the members continued to pursue music. Gerard Way announced his solo debut album “Hesitant Alien”. It was released on 2014 September 29 in the UK and the 30th of September in the US. Topping the US Billboard Alternative Albums chart, and ranked 16 on the US Billboard 200. “Hesitant Alien” also topped the “Ten Essential Albums of 2014” list in Alternative Press.

Guitarist Frank Lero collaborated with MCR keyboardist James Dewees as they form the band name Death Spells. They performed in Reggie and The Full Effect alongside Ray Toro. They also released “No Country for Old Musicians” on November 19, 2013. He also signed under Staple Records and would be releasing a full-length solo album titled Stomachaches under the moniker of "frnkiero andthe cellabration". The album featured former My Chemical Romance touring drummer Jarrod Alexander and was released worldwide on August 25, 2014.

Bassist Mikey Way formed Electric Century along with Sleep Station vocalist David Debiak in 2014. The duo released its debut single "I Lied" in February 2014. The duo announced their debut self-titled EP on March 10, 2015, and was released on April 18, 2015.

Lead guitarist Ray Toro posted a song on his SoundCloud account titled "Isn't That Something" last May 24, 2013. On January 1, 2015, he posted a new song, titled "For the Lost and Brave" on his website, dedicating the song to Leelah Alcorn, a transgender teen who committed suicide.

On October 31, 2019, the band announced they would be reuniting in Los Angeles on December 20 and a new merchandise line. The announcement was accompanied by the captions "Return" and "Like Phantoms Forever..." Don’t forget to check their website and their official social media accounts for announcements.

Live Nation Entertainment 2021 Financial Results

Live Nation Entertainment 2021 Financial Results

Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. NYSE - LYV recently released financial results for the quarter ended March 31 2021.

Strong Progress on Reopening

When we reported our 2020 results in February, I was optimistic that we would soon be returning to live events, and since then, our confidence has increased for our key markets. In the U.S., over 40 percent of the population has received at least one vaccine dose and most states are now fully or partially reopen with more restrictions being lifted daily. In the U.K., over 50% of the population has received at least one vaccine dose and their reopening roadmap is tracking to plan. Although Europe remains a few months behind on vaccinations, they are progressing and recent discussions about reopening to international visitors this summer are encouraging.

Around the world, people are showing the need to get out and socialize once again which reinforces our expectation that a return to concerts will be the logical progression as vaccines are readily available to everyone who wants to get one. This is generally already the case in the U.S. where we are confidently planning our reopenings, particularly for outdoor shows, and we expect many of our other major markets will follow this summer.

Robust Fan Demand

Alongside these trends, we are also seeing the effects of significant pent-up demand as fans are buying tickets and events are selling out faster than ever before. In the U.S., Bonnaroo, Electric Daisy and Rolling Loud festivals all sold out in record time at full capacity. In the U.K., we have 11 festivals planned for this summer, including our largest ones - Reading, Leeds and Parklife - where tickets have already sold out, and in New Zealand, the country's largest festival, Rhythm and Vines, also quickly sold out.

As we get further clarity on reopening timelines, we are announcing more tours for later this summer, including Dave Matthews, Luke Bryan, Maroon 5 and others to come, showing artists' increasing confidence in performing this summer. Given the longer lead times associated with global arena and stadium tours, we expect these will start later this year and into 2022. We are already seeing confirmed major tour dates for 2022 up double digits from the same time pre-pandemic in 2019 for 2020. Many of these artists will have multi-year tours, spanning the U.S., Europe and often either Asia or Latin America, setting us up for a strong multi-year growth run.Ticketing and Brand Partners Growing

Complementing our event pipeline, Ticketmaster continues to build its global client base to further accelerate its growth. This year, we have already added new clients representing over 5 million net new fee-bearing tickets, which we expect to grow further throughout the year as more venues prepare for 2022. With Ticketmaster's client base increasingly shifting to digital ticketing, we will continue to enhance our offerings, ranging from upsell and improved advertising opportunities, as well as blockchain and NFT ability on the Ticketmaster platform.

Our brand partners remain engaged and are responding well to our reopening, and like our concerts business, our sponsorship pipeline of committed activity for 2022 is up double digits for next year relative to where it was at this time pre-pandemic in 2019 for 2020.

Like so many of you, I'm excited to get back to concerts over the next few months, and even more excited to see what I expect to be a non-stop 2022, that continues roaring into 2023 and beyond.

Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer, Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.
